NBC's Heroes faces $50M lawsuit - CBC Olympics Posted: 20 May 2010 11:26 AM PDT A graphic novelist has filed a $50 million US lawsuit against NBC Universal alleging the final season of its series Heroes was taken from his digital book series, Carnival of Souls. Jazan Wild, whose real name is Jason Barnes, claims the network "knowingly, wilfully, recklessly and maliciously infringed" on his copyright, according to an article in the Hollywood Reporter. The series, which concerns people with supernatural powers, is completing its fourth and final season. His court documents say NBC used a carnival that is "virtually identical" to the one he created in his books. The similarities, according to Wild, are:
The author is also is seeking an injunction against distribution of season four. "We believe this lawsuit is meritless and expect to prevail in the litigation," said a statement released by NBC Five Filters featured article: The Art of Looking Prime Ministerial - The 2010 UK General Election. Suda51 Has A Star Wars Idea For The Nintendo 3DS - MTV.com (blog) Posted: 19 May 2010 12:25 PM PDT "No More Heroes" creator Goichi Suda loves new control systems, and as the "NMH" series has demonstrated, he also likes Star Wars' lightsabers. He's already committed to developing for Project Natal and the PlayStation Move. The guy apparently just can't say no to new technology, and his latest love, the Nintendo 3DS, may have him thinking about another George Lucas-inspired concept.
"I do have many ideas," Suda told The Official Nintendo Magazine. "I would love to try to develop a game for 3DS if I have a chance." He even mentioned what he wants to do in rough terms. "I hope for the realization of a training remote like Luke Skywalker used for force training in 'Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope,'" he explained. You have to appreciate that this guy knows what he likes and what he likes comes out in his games. Both in "Killer7" on GameCube and the first "No More Heroes" for Wii he showed that he has some sort of sixth sense for intuiting the strengths and weaknesses of gaming platforms. I for one will be first in line to see what he cooks up for the 3DS. Do you want to see Goichi Suda develop for the 3DS? What do you think of his Star Wars idea?
