Further aligning the strength of Marvel's hugely popular characters and stories with the burgeoning Disney XD brand and global reach, an all-new animated series, The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, will debut in fall 2010 on Disney XD and DisneyXD.com.

The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes will introduce audiences to some of Marvel's all-time favorite characters including Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Giant Man and Wasp. When the planet is threatened by Super Villains, time traveling conquerors, alien invaders, mythical monsters and mad robots bent on the total destruction of humanity, when forces of evil are so overwhelming that no single hero has the power to save the world, when there is no hope left… the Avengers assemble!

The series premieres October 22nd, 2010 at 8 pm EST.

Aces Announce Summer Special Event Series

Special game tickets now available for full slate

The Reno Aces Baseball club will present a slew of special events at Aces games throughout the remainder of the 2010 season, including Girls Night Out, All Faiths Night and Dog Days of Summer, the organization announced today.

The fun begins with Stitch N Pitch Night on Tuesday, June 22 when the Aces take-on the Colorado Springs Sky Sox at 7:05 p.m. PT. For $15, knitting enthusiasts will receive an Outfield Reserved ticket in the special Stitch N Pitch section, and a special Aces pattern.

On June 25, Aces Ballpark will be home to Girls Night Out. For $28, Aces fans will get a ticket on the Bugsy's Sports Bar and Grill Patio, an Aces wine glass, and admission to a pre-game wine tasting and meet-and-greet with Aces players in the 250 Lounge.

July 15 will be Basque Heritage Night, with fans having the option to purchase a general admission ticket and a special Aces zahato for just $12.

The fun continues on July 16 when the Aces present All Faiths Night. For just $15, fans will get an outfield reserved ticket, a t-shirt and the chance to hear a pregame speech from Aces manager Brett Butler.

Native American Day is set for July 25 at Aces Ballpark. Fans will have the opportunity to select from two different pricing options, both of which include a special Native American Day t-shirt.

July 27 will be Italian Night at the ballpark. At $20, fans will receive an outfield reserved ticket and an Italian-themed Reno Aces hat.

On Tuesday, July 29, the Aces will present Hometown Heroes Night at the ballpark, where the club will honor the police, fire and rescue services in Northern Nevada. For $20, fans will receive an outfield reserved ticket and a special Hometown Heroes Night t-shirt.

The Aces will hold Irish Night on Thursday, Aug. 5. For just $11, fans will get a general admission ticket and an Irish green Aces hat. Green beer will be available in the Coors Light Party Zone and throughout the Freight House District.

On Aug. 23, the Aces will present Dog Days of Summer during that night's matchup with the Tacoma Rainiers. For $25, fans receive two general admission tickets, admission for one canine, an Aces dog leash and the opportunity to participate in a pregame on-field parade.

All special event tickets are available online, using a special promotional code.

John Landis Chronicles super-heroes - Hollywood News

According to The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog, An American Werewolf In London and National Lampoon's Animal House helmer John Landis, is to team up with his son Max to bring a new superhero story to the screen.

The film, called Chronicle, tells the story of three Portland teenagers who develop superpowers. It will be made in a faux documentary type style, and will be directed by debuter Josh Trank.

The Landis father and son combo will produce the film, which is set up at Fox.
