Would X-Men work better as a Television series? - COMICBOOKMOVIE.com Posted: This is my first article so bare with me, I have been doing a lot of research on the X-men lately. I'm young and didn't grow up with X-men until the movies were out so I was a little bias at first. But I now see the flaws and although I feel that the X-Men first class may be a good movie, it's still not the X-men fans have grown up to love. I've take the liberty to reading the Classic X-Men Essentials and I'm on vol. 2 (it's a lot to read). I've fallen in love with X-Men in a way I never thought I would. I love the campy dialogue but I also love the character relationships and how they're evolving. The only other X-men series I ever followed was Ultimate X-Men which started off amazing but failed in the middle and forward on. I know I'm going off on a rabbit trail here but I want to propose an idea: Would the X-Men work better as a television series? I vote YES!! Start over, and do it right, movies can't grasp everything that X-Men has to offer in just a small period of 2 hours. I say make it a live action series on (FX or AMC and maybe even Showtime) something where graphic material can't be flirted with (like all X-Men comics) but without being all about sex and gore. It needs to be realistic in the right areas and fantasy/fiction in the other areas. I don't want to see dull colors when people use their powers, I want to SEE people use their powers. I want Wolverine to cut someone and they bleed. I want to see Wolverine not be so emotionally attached to people so fast. I think Wolverine should be hired to kill Xavier, these are just things that I want to see. I know comics and can't be 100% transferred to the screen but someone needs to show some effort. I know I'm just some random guy who works a security job in the midwest but thats why I'm getting so upset about things such as these movies. Rich people who haven't grown up with the heroes that we lover or people who don't understand them like we do, are destroying them and ruining our entertainment cause for some of us with the day-to_day stress need something to relax us and not infuriate us by bastardizing our childhood heroes. I have taken upon myself to begin writing an "Uncanny X-men" script that is nothing more than a mere writing excercise and peace of mind to see if Uncanny X-Men could really work on the silver screen. I would love to have ideas and pointers or share some thoughts on this. I don't know it's nothing more than fantasy or wishful-thinking. Just needed to get that off my chest. Have good one guys and thanks for reading. Editors Note - DO NOT put pictures in the preview section, thank you.
